Broadwater Academy Named to Advanced Placement School Honor Roll
Exmore, Virginia – College Board announced that Broadwater Academy was named to the 2025 Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) School Honor Roll, earning BRONZE distinction and as an AP Access Award winner.
The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results for students while broadening participation. Schools can earn this recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to enhancing college-going culture, providing additional opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness and success.
In addition, Broadwater is being further recognized with the AP Access Award which honors schools that encourage and facilitate a wider diversity of socio-economic students to take AP courses.
Broadwater had 100% of seniors who took at least one AP Exam during secondary school, a high percentage of seniors scoring a 3 or higher on at least one AP Exam, and 14% of seniors who took five or more AP Exams!
Though Broadwater is a small independent school, it offers a broad range of Advanced Placement courses. Currently, Broadwater offers eleven AP courses with six qualified instructors offering AP instruction. Also noteworthy is that Broadwater currently has two talented faculty members who have been recognized and chosen as AP exam readers in the last two years.

Not only is the level of challenge high, but the supportive aspect of our faculty /student relationships allow for students to achieve highly while managing a balanced, teenaged life. We are proud of all their accomplishments in pursuing AP courses and examinations,” says Megan Fuller, Director of College Counseling and Student Support.
