Educators Recognized by College Board for their Role in AP Scoring

In recognition of Broadwater Academy’s commitment to academic excellence and distinguished faculty, two of its educators were invited by the College Board to serve as official readers for this year’s Advanced Placement (AP) exams.

Michele Whitaker was once again selected to join a team of global educators to evaluate responses for the AP English Literature and Composition exam, reaffirming her expertise and the trust placed in her by the College Board. Tatum Ford, an AP Art and Design instructor, received her first invitation to serve as a scorer, marking a milestone in her professional journey. Both educators recently returned from a week in Salt Lake City, Utah, where they joined colleagues from across the nation and the world to score hundreds of thousands of AP exams.

While summer break is typically a time for rest, Ms. Whitaker and Ms. Ford exemplify the professional dedication that defines Broadwater’s faculty. A snapshot taken during their time in Utah captures the spirit of growth and excellence that continues even during the summer months.

Broadwater Academy is the premier learning community on Virginia’s Eastern Shore for students in Pre-K through Grade 12. With a challenging curriculum, talented faculty, and a diverse student body, Broadwater prepares the next generation of civic-minded leaders and lifelong learners.
